There are some times that everything just seems to fall into place. Of course, it takes a combination of fate and hard work. Nearly everyone dreams about turning their passion and/or interest in a career.

For Tia Dantzler, celebrity makeup artist, it became a reality in a roundabout way. Dantzler was asked by a friend, who was getting married, to do her make-up for her big day.

Inspired by this opportunity, Dantzler begin to fine tune her makeup skills on her friends and family. She quickly found that she really enjoyed bringing out everyone's own beauty. Deciding to further develop her skills, she enrolled in makeup artistry courses at Columbia College in Chicago, Illinois. Perhaps this was the best thing she did, because it became obvious to her instructors that Dantzler was a natural when it came to applying makeup to others.

While her skills are very important, what truly separates her from the other artists is her personality. Her genuine demeanor puts her clients at ease. She has also been able to establish good working relationships with her clients as well. She also understands her celebrity clientele and strives to do the best look for them. Dantzler realizes that not only do they have their own public image, but also their performance image, which tends to be different looks.

At age 35, Dantzler is at the height of her career. Her ever-growing portfolio includes celebrities, magazines and events. She has worked with such notables at Senator Barack Obama, Jennifer Hudson and Chandra Wilson. Dantzler's work as also graced such publications as Life, Sports Illustrated and GQ. She has also lent her talent to a handful of corporate clients that include AVON, CNN and BET. Her work has captured the eyes of photography greats, Annie Liebovitz and Matthew Rolston, as well.

Even though she has accomplished a lot at a young age, Dantzler's work is never done. She is constantly getting her name out in the public – through her website or being quoted in articles, and staying current on makeup trends. With both her talent and personality, she is guaranteed to remain a success in this field.

Tia Dantzler took Millennium Professionals Magazine’s founding editor Dr. Trevicia Williams’ inside her world where her passions and sense of purpose were revealed during the following exchange:

M Are you married?

TD: Yes, I have been married for 11 years.

M As a wife and mother of two girls, how do you balance your roles across work and family?

TD:     My husband and I are true believers in what you sow, you will reap.  So we believe in spending quality time with our girls individually as well as together as a family.  Whenever situations occur we always try to impart great wisdom into our children so they can make great decisions in life.  Lastly, the most important thing we do together as a family is PRAY together.

When I’m home I try to spend quality time with my girls.  When I’m traveling we communicate via cell phone and text messages.  It also helps that I have a very supportive Husband.

M What is your biggest dream?

TD:   I have too many to name.  I always re-evaluate my dreams, check off ones that I have accomplished and continuously add to my dream list.

M What inspires you?

TD:      God’s love, fulfilling my purpose, my family and living a limitless life.

M Where do you get the motivation to top your previous success stories?

TD:      My purpose gives me the motivation to keep increasing in all that I do.  I believe if you are not increasing then your decreasing.

M How do you overcome obstacles?

TD:      Definitely through faith, prayer and perseverance.

M In the pursuit of success, if there was one thing that you could share with women about reaching beyond perceived limits what would it be?

TD:      Believing in your dreams and never giving up until you see the manifestations of what you are believing for.

M The Faith Factor: How does faith impact your work life?

TD:      Faith impacts every aspect of my life.  You must first have faith in yourself, and also in your gifts and talents to accomplish goals.

M Career Highlight:

TD:      One of my career highlights have been having my work shown on an Academy Award winner at the Oscars.

M Fast fun facts:

Born: (city/state):

TD: I was born in Gary, Indiana

M For Fun: What do you do?

TD:      I love to go shopping and also taking fun family vacations to adventurous places.

M If there was one beauty secret that you could share with mothers who have hectic schedules, but want to look great what would it be?

TD:      First, I would recommend sustaining a daily skincare system, drinking plenty of water and maintaining groomed eyebrows to frame the face.

M What can we expect from Tia Dantzler next?

TD:     I plan to make a mark in this industry that can not be erased.  Stay tuned for more at www.tiadantzler.net for updates. M
