MBA's for
Working Professionals
by
Jennifer Aitken
Many
different business schools offer different MBA courses to their
students, generally the core courses are the same for every school and
each and every student. In order to maintain a successful MBA degree you
must first follow the course requirements and then you are able to have
a certain number of optional courses in order to further broaden your
horizons.
The
general course core requirements include general functional areas of
managements. These courses include:
-
Informational systems
-
Finance
-
Accounting
-
Human resources
This is
just a small example of the different types of courses each and every
MBA degree student will be required to take in order to graduate with a
full and successful MBA degree. Let’s compare the different MBA course
schedules between Warner Southern College in Florida, Rollins University
in Florida and Miami University. These southern schools are very popular
for their business programs and each offer a little something different.
Starting
with Warner
Southern College in Florida, the MBA classes are held at the
Lake Wales campus. This school offers smaller sized classes on a more
regular basis which allows students to enjoy a more interactive teaching
experience. With a GPA of 3.0 you are eligible to be accepted to this
program to take part in classes that include:
-
-
Global Business Management
-
Legal environment of Business
-
Managerial Economics
-
Management Science
-
Modern Corporate Finance
In
comparison, Rollins University in Florida offers a Graduate school
course for a MBA degree. They offer several different levels of MBA
degrees such as Early Advantage MBA, Corporate MBA, Professional MBA and
Saturday MBA. Each of these different degree programs offer the
customized class schedules and learning opportunities that suit what
your future goals are. You can choose from registering in January or
September and whether you take night classes or only weekends, etc. With
Rollins
University you are in complete control of your MBA degree.
Lastly,
let’s look at Miami
University’s MBA degree program options. This school takes
the opportunity to combine technology seminars, business seminars and
internships to create an MBA program schedule that covers everything you
will need for your future endeavors. Their goal is to put students into
the workplace as soon as possible and this is how they learn the
fundamentals. Of course their curriculum offers the standard courses as
well as some interesting electives to expand your learning to your
specific interests.
As you
can see each school takes a similar approach to the MBA degree but at
the same time they each have something unique to help you see which
school is best for you. Many people believe the hands on approach is the
best way to learn which would make Miami University the best choice, but
the course schedules of the two other schools offer advantages as well.
It comes down to comparing the features you are most interested in to
choose which is the best place for you to earn your MBA degree.
